Access to your information
You have the right to request a copy of the information that we hold about you. If you would like a copy of some or all your personal information or would like to correct or remove information you believe is inaccurate, please email or write to us (see “Contacting us and your rights” below).
What will we do with your information?
Personal data will not be used for purposes other than those for which it was collected, except where required by law. Personal data will be retained only if necessary for the fulfillment of those purposes. As an insurance and reinsurance broker Securita Re may collect and use relevant information about individual insureds to assess the reinsurance risk and seek the reinsurance market support.
This information may include individual insured’s details such as their name, address, and contact details and any other information that Securita Recollects about them in connection with the reinsurance cover. This information may include more sensitive details such as information about their age, gender, race, ethnic origin, health, and employment.
To enable Securita Re to use individual insured’s details in accordance with applicable data protection laws, the Ceding company must obtain consent to use the individual’s data and provide those individuals with certain information about how their details in connection with the reinsurance cover will be used. Any consent required will be deemed as received by the Ceding Company prior to Securita Re handling any business placement for the Cedant.
Securita Re is committed to using only the personal information needed to assist with the reinsurance placement and restricting the use and access to the data to concerned personnel. To help this be achieved, ceding companies should only provide Securita Re with necessary information only as required by reinsurers to proceed with the reinsurance placement. Moreover, reinsurers are advised to specify the type of information requested from insureds to assess the risk in order to avoid the transfer of data that is irrelevant to the placement.
